How to make a Small Wind Turbine 5

The vast majority of the work is now done. We just need to ensure that the fan blade is always facing
into the wind. This is easily done by adding what is called a Yaw Bearing, this is basically a piece of wood with a larger surface area than the fan blade, this makes the oncoming wind to force the fan blade into the breeze.

You can use any design here if you wish, just be sure that the yaw bearing has a fairly large surface area.

I used 5mm ply wood, measured the diameter of the hollow tube and cut out a section –

I then inserted the body of the turbine assembly into the cut out and the turbine was good to go. Now you can have power in a hard to reach area. Ideally this turbine should be incorporated with a mall rechargeable battery bank, a reverse biased diode and possibly a Light dependant resistor, that way you could have a light bulb in ashed that is always charged and that only comes on at night time, sweet of what :).
